PFC John J. Brown

PFC John J. Brown was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1923 to Frederick and Florence (Smith) Brown.  On 18 Jul 1942, in Coldwater Branch, Michigan, he married Betty Eliza Vaillancourt.  The couple had no children.

John was working as a metal worker when he was drafted in February 1943.  He was assigned to Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion 116th Infantry as a messenger on 20 Jun 1944.  Wounded on 12 Jul 1944, PFC Brown was evacuated to hospital and died of his wound(s) on that same day.

PFC Brown is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
