PFC Pasquale J. Ardolino

PFC Pasquale J. Ardolino was born 6 Oct 1918 in Brooklyn, New York to Francesco Emilio and Serafina (Turboli) Ardolino. Both parents were Italian immigrants.  His father worked as a machinist and mechanic.  Pasquale was an apprentice machinist prior to the war.

Pasquale was drafted in August 1941.  Sent overseas, he was transferred from the replacement depot to D Company 116th Infantry on 6 Jul 1944.  He was killed in action that same day.  We think it probable that he was assigned to other units in theater and had been wounded before being assigned to D Company.  However, the internment record only indicates one Purple Heart, i.e. one time wounded.

PFC Ardolino is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery
