PVT Anton Laugal

PVT Anton Laugal was born 15 Aug 1919 in Hall, Illinois one of twelve children born to Anton and Anna (Lokosis/Lucas) Laugal.  Both parents were natives of Lithuania.  The family farmed.

The young Anton was drafted in June 1942.  At some point after basic training he was sent to England and assigned to G Company 116th Infantry. He trained for the amphibious assault that would take place on the French beach code-named "Omaha". On 6 Jun 1944 he took part in that attack and continued to fight with G Company until he was killed in action on 13 Jul 1944.

PVT Laugal was repatriated and re-interred in the Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley, Illinois.
