PVT John Timothy Lynch

PVT John Timothy Lynch was born 6 Jul 1925 in Fillmore County, Minnesota the second of three children of Timothy C. and Marion Lucille (Goldsmith) Lynch. His father worked in a packing plant reporting a 1939 income of $1350.  John had no job but reported a 1939 income of $4. The family paid $20 a month to rent their house.

After John entered the Army he was sent to the European theater and transferred from the replacement depot to K Company 116th Infantry on 19 Jun 1944.  PVT Lynch fought with that unit until 12 Jul 1944 when he was killed in action.

PVT Lynch was ultimately buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
 
John's father, Timothy Lynch, served as a PFC in Service Battery, 896th Field Artillery Battalion, 1942-1945.
