SSG Clinton Franklin Dexter

SSG Clinton Franklin Dexter was born 1924 inSpringfield, Massachusetts to Merton Bonney and Ethel F. Dexter.  His father was superintendent at a local electric power company. His brother was a research chemist.

After entering the service, Clinton was assigned to Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion 116th Infantry and made the D-Day amphibious assault with that unit.  On 20 Jun 1944, Clinton was promoted from PFC to SSG.  On 12 Jul 1944 SSG Dexter was killed in action. 

SSG Dexter is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
