PFC Moritz Herbert Brall

PFC Moritz Herbert Brall was born 12 Oct 1913 in East Rutherford, New Jersey to Martin Robert and Pauline (Mosner) Brall. Both parents were German immigrants. His father had worked as a watchman, a longshoreman, and a foreman in a factory.  At 17 Moritz was working as a cap maker. He married Lillian Marie Scatina in 1940. He was working as a "floatman" for the marine department of the railroad at that time and and he reported $1400 as his income in 1939.

Moritz was drafted in May 1942.  He was shipped to England and assigned to E Company 116th Infantry.  He was killed in action during the amphibious assault on the French beaches of Normandy on 6 Jun 1944.

PFC Brall is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery

His brother, Maxwell Paul Brall, was Chief Clerk of the 10th Naval District.
