PFC Alexander Stanley Doleski

PFC Alexander Stanley Doleski was born 12 May 1912 in Moosic, Pennsylvania to Alexander and Sophie (Lesch) Dylewski.  His father died of pneumonia in December 1912.  His mother re-married. Step-father Frank Lesiewski supported his family of 6 as a coal miner. In 1939, Alexander was working for the Lackawanna Pants Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania and apparently supporting his mother. 

Alexander was drafted in June 1941.  He was likely assigned to K Company 116th Infantry soon after completing training and sent overseas to prepare for the invasion of "fortress Europe".  He was with K Company for the invasion.  On 17 Jul 1944 PFC Doleski was killed in action near Saint-Lo, France.

PFC Doleski is buried in the Brittany American Cemetery.
