PVT Patrick Nacarato was born 31 Oct 1920 in New Rochelle, New York. He was the 2nd child and oldest son of the 3 children born to Carl and Elvira (Contrato) Nacarato. Both of his parents were natives of Italy. His father was a bricklayer.

Patrick enlisted in the New York National Guard and served in C Battery 212th Coastal Artillery. He was working as a sales clerk when his unit was federalized in February 1941. We do not know about his service until 8 Sep 1944 when PVT Nacarato was transferred from the replacement depot to K Company 116th Infantry. He fought with the unit as a rifleman until killed in action on 7 Oct 1944 near Aachen, Germany.

PVT Nacarato now rests forever in the Netherlands American Cemetery.

Patrick's younger brother, Joseph John Nacarato, served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 and again, in the New York National Guard, from 1950 to 1953.
