PFC Harry George Patton Jr

PFC Harry George Patton Jr was born 7 Jan 1925 in Middletown, Pennsylvania. He was the only child of Harry George and Phoebe Pauline (Coble) Patton. Phoebe died of pneumonia in 1938. Harry Junior was sent to live with relatives and completed high school. His father worked as a day laborer and later as a carpenter's assistant.

Young Harry was drafted in May 1943. His father had been drafted one year earlier but had already been discharged. After PFC Patton had completed his basic military training he was sent to the European theater. On 13 Jun 1944 he was transferred from the replacement depot to B Company 116th Infantry. PFC Patton was killed in action on 17 Jun 1944.

PFC Patton rests forever in the Normandy American Cemetery.

His father served as a PVT in B Company 398th Infantry.
