PVT John Leslie Brown

PVT John Leslie Brown was born 21 Apr 1925 in Elmore County, Alabama 2nd of 3 children and only son to Winnie M and Alma (Strength) Brown.  The family supported themselves by farming.

John entered the service in June 1943.  Assigned to I Company 116th Infantry on 3 Sep 44 there is quite a bit of confusion as to what happened as reflected in the morning report but he was apparently seriously wounded on 8 Oct 1944 and died of his wounds on 9 Oct 1944.

PVT Brown is buried in Balm of Gilead Cemetery in Central, Alabama.
