PFC Kenneth F. O'Hara was born about 1925 in Buffalo, New York. He was the oldest of 2 sons born to Francis B. and Mildred F. (Dearmyer) O'Hara. His father was a truck driver who reported a 1939 income of $1300 and rented the family home at 859 Broadway in Buffalo for $20 a month.

It is unknown when Kenneth was drafted but he may have been assigned to K Company 116th Infantry in time to participate in the D-Day amphibious assault on 6 Jun 1944. It is known that he fought with the unit until killed in action on 8 Jul 1944.

PFC O'Hara was buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.

PFC O'Hara was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star. We do not currently have the citation for that award.
