PFC Anthony Pisano was born 25 Nov 1923 in Koppel, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of the 8 children of Joseph and Anna Maria (Barillori) Pisano. Both parents had been born in Serra San Bruno, Italy and both had immigrated in 1900. During his lifetime, Anthony's father had worked in a car shop but by 1940 the family was supported by 2 of Anthony's older brothers. Anthony completed 1 year of high school and then went to work eventually finding work as a welder.

Anthony was drafted in February 1943. After his basic military training he was eventually sent to England in May 1944. It wasn't until 15 Jul 1944 that he was transferred from the replacement depot to D Company 116th Infantry. Initially reported as missing in action it was quite a while before his body was found and it was determined that he had been killed in action on 17 Jul 1944.

PFC Pisano is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
