PVT Buford Lawrence Blanchette

PVT Buford Lawrence Blanchette was born 18 Mar 1925 in Ramsey County, Minnesota to John Leon and Ilvadene Helene (Jorgensen) Blachette. His father was an electrotyper making printing plates.

When Buford was drafted in September 1943 he had completed 4 years of high school.   Sent overseas after training, he was transferred from the replacement depot to I Company 116th Infantry.  PVT Blanchette was killed in action on 12 Jul 1944.

PVT Blanchette is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
