PVT Edward John Jackiewicz

PVT Edward John Jackiewicz was born 28 Mar 1922 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Joseph Peter and Kataryna (Obrubanski) Jackiewicz.  Both parents had been born in Galacia.  His father worked in the auto industry on the production line. Joseph reported a 1939 income of $1600. 

After entering the service and completing basic training, Edward was sent to the European theater and transferred from the replacement depot to E Company 116th Infantry on 19 Jun 1944.  PVT Jackiewicz was killed in action on 11 Jul 1944.

PVT Jackiewicz is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
