PFC Charles Edward Leach Jr.

PFC Charles Edward Leach Jr. was born 13 Aug 1923 in Bethel, Connecticut to Charles Edward and Marie P. (Moran) Leach.  His father worked as a flagman and freight conductor for a railroad reporting a 1939 income of $2500. Charles graduated from high school.

He was working in an office when he was drafted in March 1943. Sent to Europe he was transferred from the replacement depot to D Company 116th Infantry on 13 Jun 1944.  PFC Leach was killed in action one day later on 14 Jun 1944.

PFC Leach was repatriated in 1948 and re-interred in Saint Bernard's Cemetery in New Haven, Connecticut.
