PVT Harlan Baker was born 4 May 1925 in Owsely County, Kentucky to John and Malinda (Mosley) Baker. The family farmed near Buffalo, Kentucky.
Drafted in August 1943, he was assigned to A Company 116th Infantry on 13 Jun 1944. PVT Baker was killed in action on 14 Jun 1944.
PVT Baker is buried in Cortland Cemetery in Cowcreek, Kentucky.
