PVT Raymond John Worm

PVT Raymond John Worm was born 18 Feb 1923 in Plummer, Minnesota. He was the 5th of the 8 children born to William Hubert and Helena Magdelina (Gerres) Worm. The family farmed near Paynesville, Minnesota. 

Raymond was drafted in late 1943 or early 1944 and after completing his basic military training was sent to the European theater of operations. PVT Worm was transferred from the replacement depot to G Company 116th Infantry on 19 Jun 1944. PVT Worm was killed in action on 11 Jul 1944 in the fight to liberate Saint-Lo.

PVT Worm is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
