PFC Warren Andrew Rabuck was born 29 Jul 1924 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of Charles Daniel and Carrie Hazelton (App) Rabuck's 10 children. His father farmed in Northumberland county in Pennsylvania. Warren attended Sunbury High School and worked for a bit in the coal business in Baltimore, Maryland with his oldest brother, Lawrence. Warren also worked on the farm.
Warren was drafted in May 1943. He had is basic military training at Camp Campbell, Kentucky and then went to Fort Meade, Maryland before getting a 14-day furlough home and shipping out for Europe through Camp Kilmer, New Jersey in June 1944. PFC Rabuck was transferred to I Company 116th Infantry from the replacement depot on 20 Jul 1944. Reportedly lightly wounded in action on 6 Aug 1944 near Vire, France, PFC Rabuck died of his wound(s) on 7 Aug 1944 in hospital.
PFC Rabuck rests forever in the Brittany American Cemetery.
Three of Warren's brothers served in the war and went on to complete military careers. Charles McAdam Rabuck served in the Chinese-Burma-India theater before going on to retire as a MSG. Samuel Robert Rabuck served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and ultimately retired as a MAJ. John App Rabuck served in Australia during the war before going on to retire as a MSG. Their sister, Cora Alice Rabuck, married Hiram Nelson Smith who retired as a LTC from the U.S. Army.
