PVT RIchard Jacob Black

PVT Richard Jacob Black was born 24 Oct 1924 in Glendale Springs, North Carolina to Walter and Edna (Huffman) Black.  Richard was first-born and had 4 younger siblings. The made their living on the family farm. 

Richard entered service on 1 Jun 1943.  On 14 Jul 1944 PVT Black was assigned to Medical Detachment 116th Infantry.  The morning report apparently doesn't record the date of attachment but he was apparently assigned to/attached to M Company 116th Infantry on 2 Aug 1944 when he was killed.

PVT Black is buried in the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina.
