We know next to nothing about William C. Davis so any help would be much appreciated.
PVT Davis was likely drafted in 1943 and after being sent overseas was transferred from the replacement depot to G Company 116th Infantry on 22 Jul 1944. On 8 Aug 1944 he was thought to be missing in action but on 18 Aug 1944 it was determined that he had been killed in action on 5 Aug 1944.
We do not know where he is buried but he was apparently repatriated and is buried in the U.S.
