2LT Ralph Raymond Ferguson

2LT Ralph Raymond Ferguson was born 23 Feb 1920 in Scarbro, West Virginia to Walter Franklin and Beatrice Bertha (Gray) Ferguson.  His father worked as an electrician for a power company operating a sub-station.  Ralph was a graduate of West Virginia University where he attended ROTC.

2LT Ferguson was commissioned in 1942 and attended officer training. He also married Ernestine Lewis in 1942.  Sent overseas, he was assigned to and trained with E Company 116th Infantry for the D-Day amphibious assault on the beaches of Normandy.  He made that landing but was killed in action on 12 Jun 1944. 

2LT Ferguson is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
