Was assigned to Headquarters 116th Infantry on D-Day, 6 Jun 1944. He was probably on the 2nd boat which brought the headquarters in as everyone on that boat was killed and only one officer on the other boat, with COL Canham, was killed in the landing.
Tec4 Aldred now rests forever in the Normandy American Cemetery.
