PFC Acey Franklin Peacock was born 23 Jul 1918 in Dale County, Alabama. He was the 4th of the 5 children born to Allen Monroe and Maude (Wright) Peacock. His father farmed. In 1940 Acey was farming for his father on land Allen rented near Barnes Crossroads, Alabama.

Acey was drafted in September 1941. Due to policies in effect at the time he was probably assigned to A Company 116th Infantry before the unit boarded the Queen Mary to sail for England in September 1942. He would then have trained with the unit for the expected amphibious assault on occupied France. PFC Peacock took part in that attack and was killed in action on 6 Jun 1944.

PFC Peacock was repatriated in 1947 and re-interred in the Mobile National Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama.
