PFC Moritz H. Brall was born in 1913 in East Rutherford, New Jersey to Martin Robert and Pauline Brall. Both parents were German immigrants. His father had worked as a watchman, a longshoreman, and a foreman in a factory. At 17 Moritz was working as a cap maker. In 1940 he was working as a "floatman" for the marine department of the railroad. He reported $1400 as his income in 1939.
Moritz was drafted in May 1942. He was shipped to England and assigned to E Company 116th Infantry. He was killed in action during the amphibious assault on the French beaches of Normandy on 6 Jun 1944.
PFC Brall is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
His brother, Maxwell P. Brall, was Chief Clerk of the 10th Naval District.
