PFC Raymond Delmore Carver

PFC Raymond Delmore Carver was born 16 Jul 1922 in Nelson County, Virginia to Samuel Douglas and Nannie Ethel (Lynch) Carver.  The family farmed. 

After entering service Raymond was assigned to M Company 116th Infantry.  He trained with that unit for the amphibious assault on the beaches of France and was killed in action on that day, 6 Jun 1944. 

PFC Carver is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
