PVT Whitney Joseph Faulk was born 17 Feb 1915 in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana to Jean B. and Marie Faulk. His father was a trapper.
Whitney was married when he was drafted in May 1942. We believe he was married to Augusta at this time and that they had 2 children. Trained and then sent overseas, Whitney was assigned to Headquarters Company 2nd Battalion 116th Infantry. He trained for the amphibious assault with that unit. PVT Faulk was killed in action during that landing on 6 Jun 1944.
PVT Faulk is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
