PFC Edward Bradner Berghoff

PFC Edward Bradner Berghoff was born 12 Jul 1913 in Charlotte County, Virginia to Joseph Anthony and Mamie (Bradner) Berghoff.  The family farmed and his father worked as a carpenter. In 1940 Edward was farming. 

Edward was drafted in May 1941.  It is unclear when but he was assigned to A Company 116th Infantry and was with that unit on 6 Jun 1944 for the D-Day amphibious assault on the beaches of Normandy.  He was killed in that action on that day.

PFC Berghoff is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
