SGT James William Paulick Jr.

SGT James William Paulick Jr. was born 16 Dec 1916 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. He was the 3rd of 6 children born to James William and Clementine (Vallo) Paulick. James Junior completed high school. His father worked in a coal mine but he only worked 3 weeks in 1939 earning $65. Young James was the family breadwinner, driving a truck for 52 weeks in 1939 earning $1300 for the year.

James was still driving when he was drafted in February 1942. After his basic military training he was shipped to England and assigned to D Company 116th Infantry with which he trained for the amphibious assault and invasion of occupied France. It was in that effort on 6 Jun 1944 that SGT Paulick was killed in action.

SGT Paulick was repatriated and re-interred in the Monongahela Cemetery in Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
