SGT Staunton Montgomery Brown

SGT Staunton Montgomery Brown was born 23 Dec 1918 in Culpeper County, Virginia to Lafayette Jackson and Nina May (Gooch) Brown.  Staunton was one of 10 children born to Layfayette and his 2nd wife.  Staunton worked in a sawmill before the war. 

Staunton was drafted in May 1941.  He was assigned to B Company 116th Infantry and was with the unit for the landing on Omaha Beach on 6 Jun 1944 when he was killed in action.

SGT Brown is buried in the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, Virginia. 

Brother Clarence Lewis Brown also served during the war.
