PVT Stanley Siembor

PVT Stanley Siembor was born 17 May 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the first of 2 sons born to Jan and Sophia (Kuleczek) Siembor. Both parents were natives of Poland. His younger brother was born in 1928 and his father died in 1933. Stanley's mother remarried in 1936. His step-father John Kusy worked in a steel mill reporting 1939 earnings of $800. In 1940 Stanley was working as a pin boy in a bowling alley reporting 1939 earnings of $156.

Stanley was drafted in November 1942. We do not know where he went immediately after completing his military training. PVT Siembor was transferred from the replacement depot to B Company 116th Infantry on 14 Jul 1944 to serve as a rifleman. He was killed in action near Saint-Lo, France on 18 Jul 1944.

PVT Siembor was repatriated in 1948 and re-interred in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.
