PVT Leonard Fred Dearing

Leonard Fred Dearing, b. 4 May 1911 - d. 6 Jun 1944. Son of Leonard
and Clara (Meyers) Dearing he was drafted in 1943 while living in
Richmond. His brother, Chester Edward Dearing was also drafted and was
training as a combat engineer at Fort Belvoir when he was struck by
lightning and killed in August 1943. Leonard was ultimately assigned to
B Company 116th Infantry. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
