PFC Daniel F. DeGenova was born 16 Feb 1911 in West Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Angelo and Anna DeGenova. Both his parents were Italian immigrants. Angelo worked as a millwright.
Daniel was drafted in February 1942. He was sent overseas and assigned to L Company 116th Infantry with which unit he made the D-Day landing. PFC DeGenova was killed in action on 30 Oct 1944.
PFC DeGenova was repatriated in 1948 and is buried in Saint Vitus Cemetery in New Castle, Pennsylvania.
