CPL James B. Jackson was born 1 Feb 1893 in McBain, Michigan the oldest of three children of William and Elsie (Croznier) Jackson. His parents had come to McBain from Brant, Canada. The family farmed.
When James entered the Army service he was assigned to A Company 116th Infantry. He embarked with that unit for France aboard the Finland on 15 Jun 1918. CPL Jackson died of wounds on 14 Oct 1918.
CPL Jackson was repatriated and likely reburied in McBain, Michigan.
