PFC William Glenwood Dailey was born 26 Dec 1894 in Cambridge, Maryland. He was the 3rd of 6 children born to John C. and Elsie Belle Dailey. His father was a ship's carpenter.
William joined the National Guard on 20 Apr 1917. He was promoted to PFC on 5 Apr 1918. He was transferred from C Company 1st Maryland Infantry. That unit was reorganized as C Company 115th Infantry. PFC Dailey was sent to the Base Hospital at Camp McClellan, Alabama on 6 Nov 1917. He was transferred to the Sanitary Detachment 116th Infantry on 21 May 1918. He sailed for France aboard the USS Finland with that unit on 15 Jun 1918 and arrived in the port of Saint Nazaire, France on 28 Jun 1918. PFC Dailey was sent to hospital on 3 Oct 1918. He died of lobar pneumonia and pulmonary edema on 9 Oct 1918.
PFC Dailey rests forever in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery.
