PVT Garnett Lee Rose

PVT Garnett Lee Rose was born 19 Jan 1899 in Richmond, Virginia to Charles Bennett and Effie Elizabeth (Crawley) Rose. He was the oldest of their 4 children and only son. His father supported the family as a blacksmith and then as a machinist. In 1910 the family lived at 404½ West Clay Street in Richmond.

Garnett was assigned to B Company 116th Infantry when he died of wounds on 9 Oct 1918. PVT Rose is buried in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.
