PVT John Carnesi was born on 8 May 1891 in Mitaliso, Italy to Frank and Barbara Carnesi. The family immigrated in 1907. In 1910, John and 2 of his siblings were supporting the family.
John was assigned to the 6th Recruit Command at Camp (now Fort) McClellan, Alabama 9 May 1918 to 22 May 1918. He was then assigned to M Company 116th Infantry. PVT Carnesi was killed in action on 12 Oct 1918.
John now rests forever in the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery.
Brother, Joseph Carnesi, served as a Wagoner from April 1918 to February 1919. Brother, Charles Carnesi, served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate.
