PVT Walter Emil Kupfahl

PVT Walter Emil Kupfahl was born 18 Apr 1896 in Herman, Wisconsin the youngest of 4 children born to Wilhelm and Rosalie Kupfahl. The family farmed.

After entering the service, Walter was assigned to I Company 116th Infantry.  He apparently trained with the company at Camp McClellan, Alabama and sailed for France with them on 15 Jun 1918.  PVT Kupfahl was killed in action on 15 Oct 1918.

PVT Kupfahl was repatriated and re-interred in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Herman, Wisconsin.
