1LT Vincent P. Labowicz

1LT Vincent P. Labowicz was born 26 Jul 1917 in Maynard, Massachusetts to William Vincent and Rose J. (Eisilonis) Labowicz.  His parents immigrated from Poland in 1913.  His father worked in a woolen mill.  Vincent pursued a higher education, attending Milligan College in Elizabethton, Tennessee and Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Vincent was drafted in October 1941. Vincent was sent to officer's candidate school.  We don't know where else he served but he is recorded as being "on duty" with D Company 116th Infantry on 1 Jun 1944 as a 1LT.  His likely duties were as a platoon leader. 1LT Labowicz was killed in action in the amphibious assault that took place on Omaha beach on 6 Jun 1944.

1LT Labowicz was repatriated and is buried with his parents in Saint Bridget's Cemetery in Maynard, Massachusetts.

Brother, John Stanley Labowicz, served from 1942 to 1945.
