PFC Mario P. Iannarilli was born 11 Jan 1924 in Elizabeth, New Jersey the son of Luigi and Anna Iannarilli. Both parents were born in Italy. His father worked in an oil refinery and his mother worked as a dress cutter. Together they had a reported 1939 income of $2000.
Mario had completed high school and was working as a machinist when he was drafted in April 1943. After his initial training he was sent to Europe and transferred from the replacement depot to B Company 116th Infantry on 13 Jun 1944. PFC Iannarilli was killed in action just 4 days later on 17 Jun 1944.
PFC Iannarilli was repatriated in 1948 and is buried in the Rosedale and Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.
