PFC Frank J. Cheek

PFC Frank J. Cheek was born in Rapides Parish, Louisiana on 14 Dec 1924 to Franklin Neulin Jr and Mary Ellen (Taylor) Cheek.  His mother apparently died in childbirth as she died that same day. His father was farming in 1920. By 1940 Frank was living with an uncle.

After Frank entered the service he was assigned to B Company 116th Infantry and was with that unit on D-Day, 6 Jun 1944, when he was killed in action.

PFC Cheek is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
