PFC Ludger J. Boucher

PFC Ludger J. Boucher was born in 1912 in Quebec Province, Canada to Michel J. and Emilie (Laramie) Boucher.  The family moved to the U.S. in 1913. Michel was a carpenter, he died in 1938.

When Ludger was drafted in February 1942 he was apparently working as a lens grinder/polisher.  He was sent overseas and assigned to E Company 116th Infantry prior to 6 Jun 1944 and participated in the D-Day amphibious assault on the coast of Normandy.  PFC Boucher was killed in action on 12 Jun 1944.

PFC Boucher is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
