PVT Arnold Lester Baker was born 30 Sep 1909 in Monroe County, West Virginia to John Anderson and Anna Laura (Vass) Baker. His father was a farmer who died in 1914. His mother re-married and the step-father was a farmer as well. On 22 Oct 1938 he married Louise Lillian Ellison.
Arnold entered service on 6 Oct 1943. He was assigned to A Company 116th Infantry before D-Day but killed in action on 14 Jun 1944. He is buried in the
At the End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville, West Virginia.
In 1945 Louise re-married. She died in 1982.
