Everett was farming when he was drafted in September 1943. After completing his training he was sent to England and assigned to E Company 116th Infantry. He was with the unit as it landed on D-Day, 6 Jun 1944 and was wounded in that effort. PVT Keister died of his wound(s) on 7 Jun 1944.
PFC Keister was repatriated and is buried in Brecksville Cemetery in Brecksville, Ohio.
