T4 Clayton Anthony Albi

T4 Clayton Anthony Albi was born as Cleto Albi 4 May 1923 in Brooklyn, New York the sixth of the eight children of Gregorio Pietro and Maria Concetta (Palumbo) Albi. Both parents were Italian immigrants from the Puglia region. His father worked as a stone mason. Clayton's oldest sister died at the age of 17 in 1931. Sometime after this that he anglicized his name to Clayton.

After entering the Army, Clayton was assigned to I Company 116th Infantry.  It is probable that he was in that company for the D-Day landing.  T4 Albi was killed in action on 7 Oct 1944 in Aachen, Germany.

T4 Albi was repatriated in 1947 and re-interred in Saint John Cemetery in Middle Village, New York and now is with his family.

His brother, MSG Frank Paul Albi, also served during the war with the 28th Infantry Regiment and prior to the war with the 106th Infantry NYARNG.
