PFC Edgar Henry Kimball

PFC Edgar Henry Kimball was born 18 Jan 1924 in Bethany, Oklahoma to Ralph Lawrence and Vera E. (Griffin) Kimball. His father was a mechanic and later owned his own garage. Edgar was apparently working for his father in 1940.

Edgar was drafted in February 1943.  After his training he was sent to England and assigned to A Company 116th Infantry. He trained with the unit for the amphibious landing on the Normandy beaches that would take place 6 Jun 1944.  PFC Kimball was killed in action that day on Dog Green beach.

PFC Kimball was repatriated and is buried in the Johnson Cemetery in Econtuchka, Oklahoma.
