PVT Charles T. Byrnes

PVT Charles T Byrnes born in 1925 in Elmont, New York, to Pierre and Edith Byrnes.  Not much is known about this family.  Pierre was probably died sometime between 1930 and 1940.  Edith was from England and born about 1892 but we know nothing else about her.  We do know that Charles lived in Nassau County, New York when he was drafted.

Charles was drafted in June 1943. Prior to D-Day he was assigned to B Company 116th Infantry. Sometime during the assault on Omaha Beach on 6 Jun 1944 he was killed in action. 

PVT Byrnes is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
