PFC Ingram E. Lambert

PFC Ingram E. Lambert was born 13 Oct 1920 in Bergen County, New Jersey the only child of Elizabeth (Estabrooks) Lambert. His father, name unknown to us, died certainly before 1940, perhaps before 1930 and Ingram and his mother lived with her parents.  His grandfather, Ingram Estabrooks, was a herdsman/farmer.  His mother later found work in a factory to support them.

Ingram entered the service in July 1943. Ingram completed his service and was sent to England where he was assigned to C Company 116th Infantry.  He trained with the unit for the amphibious assault that was to take place on the Normandy beach code-named "Omaha".  PFC Lambert was killed in action on 6 Jun 1944 taking part in that attack.

PFC Ingram was repatriated in 1947 and buried in Union Cemetery, in Ramsey, New Jersey side-by-side with his mother.
