PFC John Thomas Gleason

PFC John Thomas Gleason (b. 30 Apr 1922 - d. 13 Jun 1944) son of Thomas and Emily (Breen) Gleason of Emmett, Michigan. Based on the morning reports he reported to HQ Co 1st Battalion on the 13th and was KIA the same day. PFC Gleason is buried at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France. His sister Emily's family is still living in St Clair county. His grave is serviced by Benoit Jeannet of Normandy. VFW Post 5585 in Emmett, Michigan is partly named for him.
