PVT Joseph Morris Feinberg was born 29 Oct 1915 in New York, New York son of Abraham Feinberg, a Russian immigrant. He worked as a shoe salesman. Joseph was a member of the New York National Guard, C Company 9th Regiment, but was dropped from the rolls for failure to attend drills.
When drafted in June 1943, Joseph was working as a typesetter. He was sent overseas and assigned to Headquarters Company 1st Battalion 116th Infantry and trained for the amphibious assault on the French beaches. PVT Feinberg was killed in action on 6 Jun 1944.
PVT Feinberg is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery.
