PVT Kenneth C. Howie

PVT Kenneth C. Howie was born 12 Jul 1912 in Slope County, North Dakota to Hugh and Daisy Georgina (Millam) Howie.  The family farmed. On 7 Jan 1939, Kenneth married Roma E. Knudson.

After entering into Army service, Kenneth went to England and was assigned to A Company 116th Infantry.  He trained with that unit for the amphibious assault on "fortress Europe".  He was with that same unit on 6 Jun 1944 when he was killed in action participating in that action.

PVT Howie is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery. Roma remarried in 1949.
